– ULTRA BOND 2000 –
PennDot & D.E.P. APPROVED DUST SUPPRESSANT
Ultra Bond 2000 is a specially engineered formulation of water based emulsified resin designed for use as a dust suppressant for soil stabilization.
Consolidates the Road Surface
Reduces Loss of Road Material
Lengthens Maintenance Intervals
Ultra Bond 2000 is a light brown colored liquid with no objectionable odor. Under PennDot regulation, Ultra Bond is not classified as a hazardous substance.
The emulsion is water-based, and therefore possesses little in the way of fire hazards. Analyses of Ultra Bond confirm that it does not contain any of the family of RCRA or PA Module 25 metals above trace concentrations. Bioassays for daphnia and trout have successfully demonstrated its effectiveness in environmentally sensitive applications.
Ultra Bond 2000 is a non-placarded material for transportation which has received approval for the use on the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania roads.
“The cationic surfactants used in Ultra Bond not only have an effect on the stability of the emulsion but also improve the ability of Ultra Bond to act as a dust palliative and road stabilizer. The change in the surface potential of particles that occurs as the positively charged surfactant bonds to the negatively charged oxide surfaces of the particles allows the particles to approach each other more closely. As the particles come into contact with each other the electrical charges present tend to hold the particles in contact. This allows the resins present in Ultra Bond to bind the particles together producing a complex 3-dimensional network that slowly gains strength as it cures.”
